Descripción o resumen: Another brick in the wall of Europeanisation of private law. The new volume of the "Principles of European Law" Series on Proprietary Security in Movables deals with an area of law that is of primary practical importance. Credit the "oil" of a modern economy is usually granted only against security. This is true for consumer credits and even more so for credits to business. Each rule is accompanied by the respective Official Comments which explain the meaning of the text. Moreover, National Notes accompanying each rule provide information on the legal situation in as many member states as possible. Thus a truly European-wide survey and short information on the present legal situation of security rights in movables for 25 member states is offered from Malta to Sweden and from Portugal to Romania covering also the recently enacted new Civil codes in Belgium and the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania. Emphasized are, of course, the major three Central European countries of England, France and Germany.
